Zona Musica Attiva is a recording studio and music school where the people who record and teach are musicians first. Behind the control room glass and in the rooms there are two people who come from the stage.
The team
Alessandro Cioffi
Owner · Drummer
Alessandro owns Zona Musica Attiva. A drummer, he graduated from the Conservatory in both classical percussion and jazz drums, and brings both backgrounds to recording sessions and to his lessons with Academy students.
Manlio Moscarino
Resident sound engineer
Manlio is the studio’s sound engineer. He started as a musician, with classical guitar lessons at 14, and still plays live, so he knows what the people on the other side of the glass need. He holds degrees as a recording studio engineer and in music and record production, with top honours.
Live, he has been front-of-house and monitor engineer on the national tours of Alexia and Paolo Meneguzzi, and has worked at festivals such as Giffoni Film Festival and Teano Jazz. In the studio he records, mixes and masters everything that comes out of Zona Musica Attiva.
He has worked with, among others, Stefano Bollani, Fabrizio Bosso, John Abercrombie, Dennis Chambers, Virgil Donati, Mike Mangini, Mike Terrana, Tullio De Piscopo, Agostino Marangolo, Irio De Paula, Luca Aquino, Ciro Manna, Annalisa Minetti, Rita Forte, Sancto Ianne, Area Medina, Simply Singers Choir, Dr. Jazz & Dirty Bucks.
